Diabetes Calculator

This is an obstetrical diabetes calculator used for easily calculating insulin dosage in pregnancy following an accepted protocol. You may only enter data in the 2 green fields. When you enter the patient's weight in lbs., the calculator calculates the kg. weight of the patient and the patient's recommended caloric intake. When you enter the units of insulin you would like her to have per kg. per day, the calculator then calculates her insulin requirements according to the formula, 2/3 of the total in the a.m. divided 2/3 NPH and 1/3 Regular and 1/3 of the total in the p.m. with 1/2 NPH and 1/2 Regular. This calculator runs in Excel 2003 and above. It may also be run on a handheld device running Windows Mobile Excel although fields other than the green will also be unlocked.
